Funding
The Canadian Government's AI for All Strategy
Most business owners we talk to don't know what funding opportunities they qualify for or how much funding is even available for them at the federal & provincial levels. We help you navigate your options so that you can de-risk & subsidize the cost of AI adoption for your business.
| Program | Announced amount | Runs until | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| BDC LIFT | $500M | — | Helps SMEs pay to bring AI into their operations. |
| Compute Access Fund | $700M | 2031 | Helps businesses pay for Canadian AI computing power they couldn’t otherwise afford, so they don’t have to send the work outside Canada to make it affordable. |
| Regional AI Initiative | $500M | — | Run through regional development agencies, so what’s on offer depends on where you are. We work across provinces and can tell you which one applies. |
| NRC IRAP | — | — | The National Research Council’s long-running program for small and mid-sized businesses. Money you don’t pay back, plus expert advice, for projects that try something new. |
| Mitacs | — | — | Puts university researchers inside your business to work on real problems. Its 2026 call focuses on helping small and mid-sized businesses adopt AI. |
| SR&ED tax credits | — | — | Canada’s standing tax credit for experimental technical work. Often the simplest way to get back part of what a first project costs. |
We’re not the government, and we have no say in who gets funded. We help you find programs and apply. We can’t promise you’ll get anything.
